CSI-Piemonte - IT
CSI is a regional partner with a solid experience in EU projects management and participation as well as UN and Europe Aid projects. During the last 7 years it participated in 20 European projects , 6 as lead partner. Moreover in B3-Regions fast-track project CSI-Piemonte worked as leader, very closely to the DG Info Society on broadband related themes. CSI is a public consortium grouping a large number of Public Administrations organized along "private" lines. It is focused on the development and operation of Information & Communication Technology projects for the public sector. It designs and develops ICT services to improve Piemonte’s Public Administration, providing simple and efficient services for citizens and businesses. CSI-Piemonte supports regional broadband policy definition involving Provinces and other main bodies in the process as well as acting as the technical body of the region in the implementation of related projects. It is the main contributor to the permanent regional BB programme WI-PIE.
CSI-Piemonte has also experience in satellite deployment; a broadband satellite network has been put in place to supply bandwidth to public administrations in mountainous and rural areas of the region covering more than 200 remote stations with a bandwidth of about 8 Mbps.
